Many years ago, we learned to "ground" equipment
(conductors) to prevent the accumulation of electrostatic
charges. As we moved into ESD sensitive electronics,
it became obvious that humans (conductors) could accumulate
electrostatic charges, and potentially discharge into
ESD sensitive components and devices.
In the early 1980s, the electronics industry called
for a safe means to ground people who worked on static
sensitive components and devices. The result was a coiled,
insulated wire that connected to a band that could be
worn by people on their wrist.
Today
there are unlimited options, from fixed size cloth
wrist bands up through adjustable, one size fits all
metal watchband style wrist bands and foot grounders.
These are matched with straightwires or various length
coil cords that contain safety resistors, in every
color of the rainbow.
With
demand ever-increasing for dependable grounding systems,
Bennett & Bennett will always go the extra mile
to ensure that our customers have the finest, most
reliable personnel grounding products available.
